They’re the findings of wealth intelligence company Wealth-X’s 2018 Billionaire Census.

It found that the billionaire population grew by 15 per cent to 2,754, while billionaire wealth grew by 24 per cent in 2017. Both levels of growth resulted in record highs, with the intelligence company considering this a “healthy pace”.

According to the census, a large factor in this growth is the “vibrant technology sector” and a 29 per cent growth in billionaires from the Asia-Pacific region.
