What are the 15 emerging jobs in 2020?
As we look into the new year, the fastest-growing jobs for 2020 have been revealed, with the technology sector again set to boom.
According to the latest figures by employment platform LinkedIn, all of Australia’s top five emerging jobs feature automation or artificial intelligence (AI) skills.
Defining an emerging job as one seeing tremendous growth over the past five years, LinkedIn has found new jobs are emerging in surprising ways as the “economic evolution is also throwing up some strong demand for non-tech talent, capable of bridging the gap between digital innovation and customer”.
“These emerging jobs have seen tremendous growth over the past five years. They’re not necessarily brand-new roles though. An emerging job may have grown out of a more traditional job, or it may be a completely new job that has been created to address business needs,” LinkedIn Australia’s report stated.
As the workforce continues to change, the new decade will see a greater demand for AI skills, customer services and accelerating company and product growth, LinkedIn suggested.
“We now have a clear picture of how the explosive growth in the tech industry has resulted not just in heavy demand for core tech and engineering jobs, but also jobs like customer success specialist in the tech sector that requires expertise in skills like relationship management,” LinkedIn’s report noted.
While many Australians currently hold these roles, there might not be a large enough talent pool currently holding these jobs, meaning year-on-year they are predicted to continue to grow.
Here are the top 15 emerging jobs on LinkedIn:
- Artificial Intelligence Specialist
- Cybersecurity Specialist
- Marketing Automation Specialist
- Robotic Engineer (Software)
- Site Reliability Engineer
- Customer Success Specialist
- Data Scientist
- Data Engineer
- Growth Manager
- Chief Strategy Officer
- Anti-money Laundering Specialist
- Product Owner
- Service Designer
- Full Stack Engineer
- Automation Consultant
