A banking and wealth management managing director has pivoted on his decision to leave the company due to “present uncertainties”.

MyState Ltd CEO and managing director Melos Sulicich was due to leave the company at the end of June 2020 but has now agreed to extend his employment contract.

The group’s chairman, Miles Hampton, outlined that the board had come to the view that given present uncertainties, it was important to maintain continuity in its leadership team.

It had approached Mr Sulicich to request that he delay plans to return to Sydney from the Tasmanian-based organisation.

Mr Hamtpon said the board is delighted that its CEO and managing director had agreed to continue in the role.

“Melos knows our business very well, and his ongoing leadership will ensure we get through this challenging period as a strong bank, focused on our customers and our communities,” he commented.

Mr Sulicich will remain with MyState for at least 18 months in terms of employment consistent with what was disclosed to the market on 3 May 2018.
