Deanne Stewart, CEO of Aware Super, expressed her delight at the recognition, emphasising the dedication of the team to the fund's 1.3 million members. "Being named both Pension Fund of the Year and Super Fund of the Year is a real endorsement of the work our team does for members at every stage of their journey, from their first pay packet through to retirement," Ms Stewart stated. She further added, "These awards belong to our 1.3 million members. They are the reason we keep investing, innovating and looking for better ways to help them prepare for and enjoy their best possible retirement."

The Best Fund: Member Services award highlights Aware Super's commitment to enhancing digital engagement while maintaining personalised support. Stewart elaborated on this approach by saying, “The strength of our member service model is how digital services and our people work together to guide and support members.” In the past year, Aware Super has introduced several innovative tools, including the Retirement Manager, a digital advice platform designed to help members plan and manage their retirement income confidently. Additionally, the fund launched an Age Pension Hub featuring an industry-first age pension calculator, offered an online estate planning service at no extra cost, and developed a seamless retirement join experience for non-members.

Aware Super's recognition for Best Fund: Insurance underscores the fund's efforts to simplify and improve access to insurance cover. "Our default cover has a lifecycle structure that's affordable for members of all ages," noted Stewart. "We also believe we have one of the most member-friendly and efficient claims experiences in the industry, including health and wellbeing support. New tele express and tele claims processes are helping families get faster, simpler outcomes when they need them most."

The awards come on the heels of another strong year for Aware Super, which was recently awarded the prestigious Epic Retirement Tick by Chant West and the Epic Retirement Institute. This accolade is reserved for funds that deliver exceptional retirement outcomes for members, further solidifying Aware Super's reputation in the industry.
