CMC Invest unveils AI-powered tool to streamline investment insights
In a significant move set to reshape the investment landscape, CMC Invest, Australia's largest non-bank share trading platform, has announced the launch of CMC Intelligence. This cutting-edge AI engine, developed in partnership with Telescope AI, aims to assist investors in navigating the often turbulent waters of market movements and portfolio management. By offering AI-powered insights at both the portfolio and instrument levels, CMC Intelligence promises to deliver clarity and confidence to investors in Australia and beyond.
The new tool is designed to provide insights across a range of investment vehicles, including stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies, in major markets such as Australia, the United States, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. By transforming raw market data into clear, actionable insights, CMC Intelligence prioritises information based on clients' specific investments. It highlights key price movements, news, and events, ranked by their relevance, enabling investors to concentrate on the most critical aspects of their portfolios.
Ryan O’Doherty, Head of Product for CMC Invest APAC, highlighted the challenges faced by modern investors and the pivotal role AI can play in addressing these issues. "CMC Intelligence addresses a common challenge for investors: maintaining clarity and confidence in fast-moving or volatile markets, which often requires monitoring fragmented and conflicting information across multiple sources," he explained. "AI-enabled solutions shift the focus to synthesis, helping clients cut through market noise by transforming complex market research and trade analysis into insights that are easier to understand, quicker to act on, and more relevant to real trading decisions."
The timing of the launch is particularly pertinent as the adoption of AI in investing continues to accelerate. Recent research indicates that 23 percent of CMC Invest clients are now utilising AI for their investment activities, a significant increase from 12 percent just six months ago. This trend underscores the growing reliance on technology to make informed investment decisions in a rapidly changing world.
CMC Intelligence employs specialised research capabilities tailored to each asset type and region. For instance, when analysing Australian ETFs, the tool identifies top-weighted constituents and keeps track of earnings, announcements, and other market-relevant developments using authoritative sources. At a portfolio level, it aggregates signals across holdings to pinpoint what is most pertinent at any given time. Investors can delve deeper into individual instruments to access specific announcements, earnings, macroeconomic factors, or company events that may influence market movements. Direct links to original sources, such as corporate filings and regulatory announcements, are provided to ensure transparency and facilitate further research.

The insights generated by CMC Intelligence are the result of dedicated AI research agents utilising verified market data, corporate filings, regulatory disclosures, and public news sources. Each agent specialises in a particular asset class, understanding the critical data sources and drivers that matter. This approach allows for cross-validation of findings, complete with clear source citations, enabling investors to verify information and continue their research directly from original filings and announcements.
Luc Pettett, CEO of Telescope AI, praised the collaboration with CMC Invest, emphasising the transformative potential of AI in the investment sector. "Working closely with CMC’s team to bring this to market has been exceptional," he said. "They understood that AI isn’t a feature add-on, it’s infrastructure that changes how investors engage with capital markets and ultimately empowers the investor."
The launch of CMC Intelligence marks a significant step forward in the integration of AI into the investment process, offering investors a powerful tool to cut through the complexity and make informed decisions. As the financial landscape continues to evolve, innovations like CMC Intelligence are poised to play a crucial role in helping investors navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
